Reservations can be done only through our website on the reservations section, which is always updated with the availability of the restaurant. In case the restaurant is fully booked, you can join our waiting list.
New reservations are released every first working day of the month for six month later. (At the following question you can find the releasing calendar)

A countdown shows how much time is left before reservations are released.
In the reservations section, you will find the booking page where you can filter your preferences. Here the instructions to proceed and some tips: Click on the calendar icon to select a range of dates (i.e. from 01.05.2020 to 12.05.2020). That range can be selected from the same month only. Select the preferred day/s and time/s (is it possible to select more days and both services). Choose the number of guests If you need a specific date, we suggest you to select a range of dates starting with that specific day and selecting the relative day of the week Reservations are showed until they are available, after that you will only have the possibility to join the waiting list or verify the availability on the other restaurants of the group. Once selected the preferred date, you will have 10 minutes to finalize the booking: You will have to add your personal details and eventual notes (allergies, special requests) Add eventual extras – books and Balsamic Vinegar – you will find the at the restaurant Finally, credit card details will be requested to guarantee the reservation. Kindly note that no cost will be charge during the booking, extras will be paid at the end of your visit.

We can accommodate from two up to ten people.
Tables for single diners are available at Francescana at Maria Luigia.

Yes, a credit card is mandatory to secure the table. Please note that there is no charge to your card. Your bill will be settled on the day of your visit.

You can cancel your reservation without any penalty up to one week before your arrival. Changing the number of people on an existing reservation will not cause a penalty fee if given not later than one week before your arrival, but will depend on the restaurant availability and restaurant configuration. A fee of €250 per person will be charged on your credit card in case of a cancellation or a modification to the number of guests communicated later than one week before your visit, or a no show.

We can accept third party reservations only if provided with the main guest contact details (full name, phone number and email address and credit card) Without a direct contact with the guest the reservation will automatically be canceled.

You can apply for as many days as you like through the reservations page. Our reservation office will contact you, if there is new availability on the chosen date.

Osteria Francescana is open everyday, from Monday to Sunday.
Lunch is at 12.30PM and dinner at 8.00PM. We kindly ask to respect the arrival times.

We offer a tasting menu or courses from our à la carte menu, that can be found here. Menu choices are the same for lunch and dinner. If you choose our tasting menu we kindly request the same menu for the whole table. For party of five guests or more, the tasting menù is required for the whole table.

We welcome guests from the age of 12 years old.

No dress code is required, a smart casual choice fits your visit perfectly.

The experience usually takes about three hours, but it depends on your menu choices.

We accept all credit cards. Payment by cash can be made in Euros only.

Yes, our kitchen team will adapt the tasting menu, or the à la carte order, to allergies and food preferences. Our team will also take care of all the attentions related to pregnancy. In general, we kindly ask you a notification one week before your reservation.

We offer this service only in case of an already confirmed reservation. You can make a reservation through our system and, if confirmed, offer it to your guests. You can contact the restaurant to pay in advance for one of our tasting menus one week before the visit.

How to reach the restaurant:
BY CAR
Osteria Francescana is located in a limited traffic zone (ZTL); if you are arriving by car, please be aware that you can be fined for entering and parking within the historical city center, including via Stella. The closest metered parking is on viale Vittorio Veneto. At the civic number 59 you will find a gallery, which leads directly to the restaurant. Please do not leave luggage or valuables in your car. This is a public, non-surveyed, parking area. If you prefer a surveyed parking, there is an underground parking garage, located near the city center. From there you can call a taxi (+39 059374242). Osteria Francescana is 20 minutes by foot from Modena train station, 10 minutes by taxi. Modena can be reached passing by “Bologna Centrale” train station where high-speed trains from Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice stop. You can find train timetables here. BY AIRPLANE
Nearest international airports are in Bologna (Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi) and in Milan (Linate and Malpensa). Otherwise, the closest private airport is Aeroclub in Marzaglia, 20 km from Modena.
